Charlie: The Kindergarten Graduate

We are so thrilled Charlie passed Kindergarten. The first few months whenever asked if he liked school, he would respond with negative comments. Later he admitted that was all an act and that in reality, he loved it! According to Charlie, his teacher Mrs. Beutler is the best teacher in the school and maybe the world. She is having a baby girl any day and we had a fun class shower to celebrate. Charlie recently got another buzz and he is always disappointed that the cut is not short enough. This time I relinquished control (who am I kidding that I ever had any) and now he is nearly bald and very happy! As you can see from the picture of his birthday party in January, he is not your ordinary six year old. He truly believes he is much older and I love to watch him stalking around playing "Pokemon trainers" and catching frogs and snakes with his big brothers and their friends. I love his great sense of humor, Olivia and I are going to miss him next year!

Olivia in her Polka Dot Bedroom

Olivia is such a joy. Her brothers have adored her since the moment she was born. She has a special relationship with each of them. She is the apple of her Daddy's eye and a best little buddy for mom. We went to get manicures with flowers the other day and it was so much fun. I adore the child she is becoming. I watch her rough and tumble with the boys and then the next moment she is dressing up and dancing with her friends and cousins. I know she is now three years old and she thinks she is all grown up. At Church this week she announced she is "done with nursery." Yet I love that she still says "hold me" and wants to be cuddled. I guess the baby is always the baby no matter their age. I am so grateful for our sweet little daughter.

Lego Maniacs reach Nirvana!

Lego land was a dream come true for the kids and a nice calm break from the rush of Disney land. Sam has decided he wants to work there someday.
We spent a lot of time on the merry go round waiting for the brave ones to ride California screaming, what a rush ! Even Brig got in on the action, conquer the fear!

WE LOVE DISNEYLAND

We had a great time in beautiful CA. The weather was 70 degrees, we were changing into our shorts before we got to the hotel. The boys loved the awesome rides and lego shops and loading up at the morning Captain Kidd continental breakfast. Dave loved all the lines, actually they weren't bad.
Olivia and I loved our lunch with the princesses. She is smiling with Cinderella, but when she first met Ariel she had a big scowl on her face and the photographer was trying to sell me the photo for $30, no thanks!
Unfortunately none of the boys were chosen to be jedi knights, but Brig got to have a song sung to him and got a picture of Woody, way cool since Sam wanted to name him that when he was born. We had such a bonding and exhausting time, anyone up for a trip in 2010.

Happy Boys

Thankfully, we celebrated the 100th day of school recently because my boys are ready for the freedom of summer. Sam is working on a big ancestor report on Heber J Grant. We have had an awesome time researching his amazing life, but is anyone else tired of homework. We have had some great ski days, but now I find myself dreaming about water skiing on a scorching hot day. Whoever is praying for moisture, I think you can stop. In the meantime we will keep shovelling and building snow forts.

I am so excited to have Olivia potty trained! This is the first time in 10 years I have not been changing diapers! Unfortuately pull-ups are not factored in this statistic, give me another few years for my deep sleepers. The only drawback is when Livvy needs to go, it is now! I have been seen leaving my cart in the middle of the store, picking Olivia up like a football and sprinting to the potty. Thankfully, because of our manuevers there have been no accidents yet, we are a great team. She is everyone's love for Valentines day, but I think Charlie is her favorite today. He is her best friend in the world.

Its a miracle! Bekah is blogging!

Thanks Whit for keeping everyone up to date on the lives of the Johnson rugrats. It is true, Dave is driving a lot, I am swimming/drowning a lot, and the kids are making messes a lot. We have had an awesome 2008 so far. The most exciting news is that Olivia Kate turned 3 years old. She had a Dora pary with cousins and best friends. I was pretty proud of the purple backpacks I made with help from my seamstress neighbor. Watch out Martha Stewart. I decided to get serious and potty train Olivia. It was a breeze. She put on her Dora undies, hopped on her princess potty and voila. I am now wondering why I didn't do it sooner. Olivia is a joy. She tells me about twenty times a day that I am her best friend in the world. Is there a sweeter sound? Charlie also had his 6 year old birthday bash with cousins at Kangaroo Zoo. He now loves Kindergarten and is an awesome reader. He still wears his uniforms of cotton shorts and a BYU T-shirt. He will put on pants (sweats) and a sweatshirt for school, but has them off in the car before we even get back home! Poor Sam and Brig had to take a 4 hour test yesterday for application into the ALL program (advanced learning lab). I bribed them with extra spending money in Disneyland and Lego land when we visit next month. Yeehaw, Walt Disney here we come. We have had the chance to see lots of loved ones lately and that is always awesome. We hope to see more of you soon. Love the Johnsons
